Huawei Health

When you turn on the Huawei Health app for the first time, you need to log in to your Huawei account. If you do not have an account, you can follow the link and use the registration form. After registration, you will need to grant the app all necessary permissions for it to function correctly.

After a quick registration, you will be redirected to the main menu where you can view the number of steps walked and calories burned through the main panel. Through additional panels, you can view data about your weight and how it’s changing, sleep quantity and quality, exercise records, and more. By clicking on each section, you have the option to view additional information.

On the plus side, the Huawei Health app allows you to customize the heart rate threshold and limits and set individual values. In the “Heart rate” section, you have the opportunity to set the heart rate threshold and set its limits, which, when displayed, show the level of exertion (e.g., warm-up or anaerobic). The app allows you to connect additional devices to better monitor your activity. You have the option to use a smart watch, smart bracelet, electronic scale and heart rate monitor as auxiliary devices.

On the downside, the app collects your personal data, which directly indicates privacy concerns. Huawei Health can receive data about your personal settings, device and network data, including IP address, health and physical activity data, including device geodata, and much more. All information collected by the app is sent to Huawei’s servers and then processed and used for company purposes. The disadvantages also include the fact that when customizing personal information, some buttons may not work or have small pressing limits. In addition, the application interface is not intuitive, which complicates the use of the application.
