In the story of the game the main character gets a job as a security guard in a pizzeria for night shifts. At night, the main symbols of the pizzeria – Foxy the fox, Freddy the bear, Chica the chicken and Bonnie the rabbit – “come to life” and start walking around the building so that their mechanisms don’t rust from long idle time. If any of the animatronics encounter a human, they will try to force them into Freddy’s costume. All because they think the human is an animatronic skeleton without a suit and try to save his life, but actually kill him.
The protagonist needs to survive five nights in a pizzeria, defending against animatronics. To win, you need to live from twelve at night until six in the morning. To do this, you can use the CCTV cameras that know where the living mechanisms are now. In one of the rooms, the video transmission does not work, and you will need to determine by ear whether there is someone there or not. To protect yourself from an animatronic that tries to enter the guard room, you can close the iron door and also check if there is someone in the corridor by pressing the lights.
By using any of the functions (cameras, doors, lights), you will waste energy. In case you use up all the energy, the emergency power will turn on, all the doors will open, all the cameras will turn off, and Freddy the animatronic will appear in one of the doorways. After a certain amount of time, the power will turn off completely and Freddy will kill the main character.
After each night, the game becomes more difficult, and after completing all five nights, there will be a sixth, special night. It is more difficult than all the previous ones and if you pass it, you will unlock the seventh night, where you can customize the behavior of animatronics manually. For example, you can create a very difficult game level for yourself. Five Nights at Freddy’s has a low entry threshold because it doesn’t have a lot of features and buttons. You can quickly figure it out and immerse yourself in the gameplay without spending a lot of time learning the mechanics of the game.
